Traveling with kids can be a fun, eventful time for the family. However, it can also get a bit stressful and exhausting, especially when it comes to where you’re going to eat. Families with multiple kids that have different tastes in foods have the hardest times, though. One kid may not be hungry when one just wants ice cream for dinner while another wants a basket full of chicken. Well, we’ve got some great restaurants here that may suit your little ones’ needs!

Baker’s Bakery has a menu for kids along with their amazing donuts and rolls that any kid will love. During breakfast, the kids can choose from the classics on the menu, like pancakes and/or eggs. For their lunch menu, kids can choose from grilled cheeses, hamburgers, and chicken strips.

The Beggin’ Burro definitely understands kids. They’ve got choices called “I don’t know,” “I don’t want that,” “I’m not hungry,” and “I want to go home,” which are mac and cheese, hamburgers, quesadillas, or chicken tenders. Or, if they’re a bit more adventurous, they can try one of the Mexican dishes on the regular menu.

Black Hills Burger & Bun offers multiple burgers on their regular menu that some kids may like, but if not, they’ve got a great kid’s menu as well. Kids can choose from a small hamburger, chicken strips, a cheese quesadilla, or an egg and cheddar sandwich. Watch out, though, for the kids stealing some of the adults’ fries off their plates… the fries are amazing!!

Calamity Jane’s, right in the center of main street, is wonderful for every member of the family. They’ve got coffee and wine for the adults, treats for the sweet tooth of the family, and meals made just for kids! They can choose from chicken strips, cheeseburgers, grilled cheeses, and a grilled PB&J.

Laughing Water Restaurant at Crazy Horse Monument not only provides spectacular views of the mountain but also some good choices for the youngsters. The buffalo stew they offer on the regular menu is a great option for kids along with their children’s menu that consists of chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and a hamburger of cheeseburger.

Our Place offers both breakfast and lunch options for children. Along with their regular menu breakfast items, like waffles and French toast, the kid’s menu includes a meal of one egg, bacon or sausage, and toast, or a meal of a pancake or French toast with bacon or sausage. For lunch, they can decide between a cheeseburger, corn dog, hot dog, chicken nuggets, or grilled cheese.

Pounding Fathers, located on the top floor at Mt. Rushmore Brewing Company, has a variety of good choices on the kid’s menu along with fantastic dishes on the regular menu. They can choose from chicken tenders, mac and cheese, cheeseburger sliders, buttered pasta, or a 7” cheese pizza.

The Custer Beacon offers chicken tenders and fries, a kids burger and fries, and cheese tortellini for kiddos 12 and under.  These goodies are available for take out or dine in on their dinner menu.

In addition to these restaurants that have specific kids’ menus, don’t forget about our other restaurants where you’ll be able to find a good meal that satisfies the whole family!  Pizza is always a great option, and Custer is lucky enough to have three pizza places: Pizza Hut, Pizza Mill, and Pizza Works.
