The 9-hole, par 36 Rocky Knolls Golf Course offers 3,084 yards of precision golf from the longest tee. The natural landscape of the course is refreshing and offers scenic views of the Southern Black Hills. The fairways are lined with mature Ponderosa Pines and demand accuracy off the tee. The course rating is 35.9 and has a slope rating of 136 from the tips. Rocky Knolls Golf Course opened in 1965. Steve Price manages the clubhouse and, as the course superintendent, keeps the course in excellent condition.

Challenging terrain - mostly wooded with some rocky outcroppings. Un-groomed course in primitive park. Closed toed shoes and long pants recommended. Spotters handy on #7 and # 11.

Directions: At east end of ridge with Hollywood style CUSTER sign above town. From 385 in Custer; Hwy 89 and 16A east to a right at light on S. 8th St. Turn left at end on Canal St., then right through gate into Big Rock Park (aka Pageant Hill).
